Looking at commercials along highway 521 in Oravska Polhora one can think that the area is bilingual as most of them are in two languages: Slovak (potraviny) and Polish (sklep spozywczy), haha - no English (grocery).
But it's not true: natives speak Slovak not Polish but most customers in numerous groceries are Poles because of lower prices on food and drinks than in Poland.
Btw Slovak language is similar to Polish but it's not so easy to understand everything for a Pole hehe.
