36 km from Spisska Nova Ves, on the south side of National Park Slovak Paradise there is Dobšinská ladová jaskyna (Dobsinska ice cave). It is a real karst rarity among ice caves. It is our largest ice cave and the first cave in Europe having electric lighting (since 1887). The extraordinary sight awaiting you in this cavern is a magnificent conglomeration of ice forming a huge mass underneath arches of rock. During the period before the start of summer, there is about a centimeter depth of snowy frost here. The abundant icy filling of the cave occurs in the form of an ice-covered floor, frozen waterfalls, ice stalagmites and pillars.
You must visit this park it is a experince to go walking. If you are not afraid!!!!!!
Entrance fee one day: 40 sk.

Their timetable is weird - to my mind anyways. You should find somebody to explain you what certain symbols mean, otherwise you might end up waiting for a bus that isn't supposed to come in the middle of nowhere on some hiking track.
It is not really a tourist trap, but the tourist are most likely to fall for this kind of things. In some resturants the waiters/waitresses seem to add a few more glasses of wine or something to your bill. Apparently they don't get tips very often, so they just take the tip themselves. (and also - very few waitresses speak English or.. German.)
