many intl. lines, e.g. Vienna, Rome, Venice, Belgrade, Budapest, London, many destinations in Germany and Czech rep. and a plenty of domestic lines. Buses can take you to the places where trains can not, larger towns are connected with express buses (altough slower than trains) and even the smallest village is reachable by local bus at least twice a day. www.cp.sk, www.eurolines.sk, www.vlak-bus.cz Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

good connection with neighbouring countries, direct trains to Berlin, Hamburg, Bucharest, and Moscow also available. (see http://www.zsr.sk/english/index.html); the bus and train connection finder I have the best experiences with is www.vlak-bus.cz in general, train is a best solution for longer journeys, it`s much faster and more comfortable than bus. Once you`ve decided to take local train to small town/village, be aware that the train stop/station can be a bit apart of it. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

Best way is to arrive at Bratislava Airport because it is the smallest airport I have ever seen and beats the hell out of those massive, glitzy airports in other places. I should say train, but...I haven't traveled enough by train yet. So...find someone with a car. My chariot was a Skoda. My driver should be the next Michael Schumacher. Theme: Other

When in High Tatras you can go by cable e.g. Tatranska Lomnica to Skalnate pleso and Lomnicky stit (second the highest peak) but remember to wake up quite early to get tickets and everything depends on weather :) Expect that it is more expensive than normal tickets ... Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Into the Slovensky Raj are there two main accesses from the Czech Republic. From the north from Poprad and from the southwest from Banska Bystrica. To the colony Pila is the best way from Poprad to the Spissky Cvrtok and then through Hrabusice. Next good places for tours are for example gamekeeper's lodge Sokol (Falcon) next to Pila, colony Podlesok u Hrabusic, villages Vernar, Stratena, Dedinky, Cingov. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

For a few extra dollars (and I mean a FEW) you can buy a reserved seat first class ticket on the train. You will likely have a cabin to yourself, complete with waiter, and the alternative second class ticket will have you standing by the aisle windows for the entire trip, trying not to breathe in the cigarette smoke. We paid about $5 each for first class to Trnava from Bratislava. Leave a Comment Theme: Train

The major highways into and out of Slovakia are the E65 (Brno), the E75 (Gyor) and the E58 (Vienna). The speed limit in Slovakia is 60 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on open roads and 130 km/h on highways. A new law change has lowered the speed limit in Bratislava´s city centre to 30 km/h. Drivers who wish to use Slovakia´s higways must purchase a permit and place it on their windshield. The permit costs 600 Sk (15 USD) for regular passenger cars. Permits are available at border stops, petrol stations and post offices. Leave a Comment Theme: Car/Motor Home

18. jula 2002 sme na ceste smerom do Madarska stretli tohoto odvazneho turistu. Budhisticky mnich putoval z Berlina az niekam na juh Europy, aby informoval ludi o situacii v Tibete Leave a Comment Theme: Other
