Cajka seems to be the place to be. Always people there and often hard to get a table and chairs if you arrive late. Student night in Trnava seems to be Thursday night. Also if you ask the locals they will tell you if there is something going on elsewhere eg. the Hip Hop party, Rock and Roll night, Summer Party etc. Ladies you may want to supply yourself with tissues as, as in most places, toilet paper is usually scarce later in the night ;-).
Also, if you're an Aussie, in the bar at Mirage (85c for a beer!!!!) they have a jukebox with 'Land Down Under' and plenty of ACDC if you're feeling a bit homesick ;-)
Not a lot of dancing seems to happen unfortunately :(
Dress Code: It really ranges from the basic (shorts and singlet or t-shirt) to jeans, to dressing up a bit. As usual, you will always get the girls who really dress up and those that don't. As for the guys, usual attire seems to be t-shirt and jeans.
Going to an internet cafe might be a little bit nerdy in the evening but there was very little happening in Trnava unless you were at one of the weddings. Besides, we hadn't heard any news from beyond Slovakia in more than a week so it made sense for us. And we had been in almost every Trnava cafe so far, so why not an internet one? There weren't too many internet cafes in Trnava but we found one on Hviezdoslavavo, run by a very friendly Slovak girl. It worked our reasonably cheap at 25 SKK for 30 minutes.
Tranva was very quiet in the evening. There was some activity in the restaurants around the main square but otherwise the streets were quiet and almost empty. Where were all the people? Probably at one of the three weddings in our hotel.
We went back to our hotel at 10pm but as it was too noisy to get to the sleep, we went out again for another drink. Most of the pubs btween our hotel and the main streets were either closing or almost empty. We finally found a place with a crowd and a bit of atmosphere on Hlavna, one of the main streets leading to the main square. There was a sign outside the bar saying "Student Bar" and that could be either the name or description of the place.
We had two lovely pints of Staropramen and wathed Slovakia beat someone 6-0 in the football before returning to the hotel to face the wedding again.
After we'd finished exploring the town it was too early for dinner so we decided to have a drink. There were plenty of interesting looking pubs in the university area but for some reason we ended back on the back on the main square and had a beer at Cafe Pastis
The beer i had in this place was the worst Pilsner I had in Slovakia. It tasted more like Fosters and was one of the few beers I didn't enjoy on the trip. The cafe is in a great location with a terrace on the main square.
The main street ;)) as tons of restaurants there ;) the night club Alcatraz :) don't be afraid hehe... Night club divided into two parts where is different music (disco and house)
downstairs like in the cave ;)) huaaa pretty scary huh? :) nice place in the center
Dress Code: wild one ;))) jeans and sexy t-shirts ;) or whatever you like
