In the vicinity of Lake Bohinj (towards the northwestern tip of the lake) you'll find the waterfall Slap Savica. We had a quick and affordable lunch near the lakeside - mixed salad, coffee and tea for 10 euro - before attempting the ascent of the more than 500 steps that led us the waterfall. You'll find that there are in fact two waterfalls next...more
It's an easy walk from the ski hotel Vogel (also upper terminal of the cable lift) to the nearby mountain top Orlove Glave. In one of these pictures you can see the two of us right on top of this modest elevation in the area with our backs to the cross that has been placed there. This was recommended by the owner of Pension GAŠPERIN who gave us a card which entitled us to a 10% discount.
The restauarant was very homely and the food was excellent but the service was a bit abrupt (could have been an off night).
Favorite Dish: The starter was deep fried camembert but on a massive scale. Could barely dent the main course after working my way trough these.
