Slap Savica (Waterfalls)

by KiNyA

The Slavica waterfalls are must when visiting Bohinj. They are not far from Bohinj at all and with 72 meters of height they are Slovenia's 7th greatest waterfalls. It is also well-known for France Preseren's poem Krst pri Savici (Baptism by the Savica).

Union Pivo!

by tobhamor

There are two types of beer available in Slovenia - Union and Lasko (goat beer).Personally, Union was my favourite. Nothing could be better than to be in Ljubljana on a sunny afternoon, sitting in a riverside cafe with an ice-cold Union in front of you. Lake Bled is chocolate-box beautiful. Forget Austria, forget Switzerland. Come here and see the beautiful lake with the Alps in the background. See the church on the island in the middle of the lake and hear the tolling of the bell as someone makes a wish.Take a gondola out to the island (or row your own boat, or swim) and toll the bell yourself.

CITIES AND TOWNS.....

by eden_teuling

Ljubljana, lying in the geographic heart of the country is the capital, the political and university centre but also a location for international events, all year round! The city charms visitors with its rich ancient and medieval history that comes alive through its renaissance, baroque and secessionist art! Who doesn't know the world famous architect Joze Plecnik? He left his unmistakable stamp on the city with lovely bridges (e.g. the Triple Bridge), the market (with the many columns), the National and University Library and many other works whose ornaments and composition are so characteristic for Plecnik! When you come in Ljubljana, be sure to see the CASTLE, with its view over the whole City and its surroundings: walk around Old Ljubljana and visit the market! Every day the stands are colourful with mountains of fresh produce, fruits, fish, flowers and more... MARIBOR is the...

Hills in winter

by Zo72

Nature turns sad and gray during winter. Still visiting hills or mountains can be great experience for winter feeling and fresh air and it is especially beautiful when there is snow. This is view from Hum hill above Lasko town. Some people even walk here during New year's eve. Interesting way to spend it.

Tabor castle

by Zo72

Castle near Lasko is certainly not the biggest in Slovenia. It used to be hunting hut for Celje counts. Today there is restaurant there. It is also popular place where people get married.Walk around castle for it is good point of view over Lasko. Walk to nearby Blaz rock or to Hum hill.
