Gorice Travel Guide

 Sweetberry1 Says:  The local cemetary appears to be well looked after by the locals. It has a peaceful serene look about it. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  Corn is just one of the many crops that are produced here. Wheat and potatoes were also produced in large quantities. And wineries are absolutely everywhere... Gosh.. and I thought this was going to be a 'Dry' page.. ;-)) Just as well there are wineries here... cause the... 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  This Memorial stands for 5 unknown people who lost their lives during enemy fire, in 1942. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  The Church is actually a lot bigger than it appears to be from the front. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  This is the front view of the village church. It had obviously had renovation work done, as it used to be a darker color, many years ago.. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  This is the only general store in this village, so I would assume that they would stock a large variety of goods. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  There are also road signs, which will show you 'where to' and how far it is to your next destination. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  The Information Center, will be helpful in showing you where you are, and where you are heading... If not, just ask the friendly locals, they would know all there is to know about the region. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  This Chapel appears to have been built more recently. I could be wrong, but it looks a lot more like present day architecture. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  The houses here have an original style, that is easily recognizable as being in Europe. Window boxes filled with lovely bright flowers, are seen everywhere. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  As you can see, the houses are not built right next to each other.. there is room to move. 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  Gostilna Lovec is the local hotel, where village folks would gather at the end of the day, for a bit of socializing.I wonder what they do on Tuesdays, when the local is closed??? ;-)

 Sweetberry1 Says:  This map of the region shows other towns in the area. Not very visible, to the left of Gorice, is another lovely place called 'Golnik' ... Here there has always been a large medical facility for respiratory deseases. This facility has been expanded a lot since the days that... 

 Sweetberry1 Says:  Gorice is surrounded by beautiful mountains, so this would be the perfect place for a bit of hiking or mountaineering. My memories of this place are very few. I was still a Babe in arms when I lived here.
