Favorite thing: The beer in Slovenia is very good, but if you just ask for a beer, most often you will get a Svetlo Union pronounced onion or a Laško Zlatorog, pronounced lashko both of these beers are very good, but if you like a other types of beer or stout their are some very nice ones from both breweries. Union have Èrni Baron, Smile, with lemon, Union pils which is slightly weaker in alcohol and Laško have Temno Laško now called Laško Dark and Netopir. Netopir is more like a bitter but is hard to find these days. A shandy is a Union Radler, they do lemon, orange and grapefruit. Laško do a lower calorie/alcohol version called Laško light and there is Laško Club similar to original Zlatorog.
One funny thing that we overheard whilst having drink at our favourite snack bar one day was a group of young teenagers asking for "three hot dogs with onions" so the hot dogs came and to the teenagers amazement they had managed to get beers to go with them. I thought it was really funny.
A short bus ride to Dovje/Mojstrana brings you to the "Aljažev Hram" where Laško Dark can be found on tap, very nice it is too goes down well with the salted Pretzels. Mmmm.
Fondest memory: These are from the Laško brewery.
Zlatorog, Zlatorog club,Temno, Dark Laško, Netopir, Lahko, Light Laško, My favorite being Zlatorog.

Favorite thing: What I mean by "early" is early morning or early in the year, without the crowds KG can be a different place, try it sometime.
I can't name one most important thing as all of KG is important to me. The one scenic view I think that should not be missed though is the Martuljek mountain range from the meadows near Srednji vrh.
Fondest memory: I miss the friendly people. All my memories of KG are good but one of the best is the first time I took my friend who is a fussy eater, on arriving at our accomodation he was trying to find out what was for dinner, he was told "steak in mushroom sauce", I could see from his face that he wasn't too happy. We went up to freshen up and I asked if there was a problem "I don't like mushrooms " he said, I knew it of course.
Anyway we went down had a Jagermeister, then went for dinner, when it came he proceeded to put on pepper instead of salt which of course he doesn't like.
I told him to try it and he scoffed the lot and said it was lovely.
Must be the Jagermeister. Dober tek!

Favorite thing: Do not change your hard earned into Euros before you leave the UK, the rate that you get will not be anywhere near the rate you will get in Kranjska gora.
For example Lloyds tsb on 30/11/07 were offering 1.341 to the pound and SKB in Kranjska gora were offering 1.41 so for every 100 pounds exchanged at Lloyds you lose 7 Euros converted back to UK puonds at the rate in KG equals £5.22 nearly over £5 pound that's about 4 beers or cakes at Charlies.

Favorite thing: A trip to the bohinj Valley can be arranged with local tour operators, it may seem expensive at first glance but you get direct transport to the area and usually you get expert knowledge from the tour guide.
It is much easier than catching local buses and you get more time in Bohinj. The 1st photo I have included was taken by my wife in July 2001. I feel I have to give her credit for this beautiful photo.
Fondest memory: A walk around lake Bohinj is about 12 km and can be enjoyed by anyone. Seeing the lake from different angles makes the trip more enjoyable.

Favorite thing: "Charlie's, (ice cream and cake shop) it's a cafe you can have Tea, Coffee, Beer, all the local Brandies but most of all you can have cake and ice cream.
The cakes and the ice cream are all made in the shop and they are great. There are friendly arguments as to which has the nicer cakes, Charlie's, or the Brown bear in Bled, for me Charlie's wins hands down. And if you tell the boss he might even smile for you.
Try them both and make your own mind up.
But can you eat Two cream slices?

Favorite thing: Planica!
Fondest memory: Planica is probably the biggest party of the year in these parts.
Fans come in their tens of thousands to see this spectacle every year, including myself and two friends. Although there is a large amount of alcohol consumed there is very little, if any trouble. It's just great.

All the areas are named by characters from children's book about the boy Kekec.

Favorite thing: A vidi ovo, kao da smo kod nas u Gorskom Kotaru. Malo nekakve drvene konstrukcije, informativna ploca koja je totalno neinventivna i "that's all folks".
"Boze mili kud sam zasel, nigde puta nigde staze...."

Favorite thing: The view at the very centre of this little town, surrounded by high mountains. It is one of the best known ski-resorts of Slovenia.
Dakle, sam gradic djeluje kao mjesto u kojem bi se putnik-namajernik zaustavio jedino ako to mora.
