Favorite thing: Kropa was first mentioned in a document from 1498, under the name Chropp or Krupp, which derive from the hydronym now called Kroparica Creek. In the Slovene language "kropa" means powerful spring.
This small village, with less then a thousand inhabitants, is known for its traditional smithies which produce decorative metal fittings.
The village is situated hidden on the banks of the Kroparica Stream and in the shade of the Jelovica Plateau. Kropa is the cradle of Slovene iron-forging and iron mill owners.

    Windows

Favorite thing: When you look around, you can feel the effort of local people to make their village attractive also for visitors. With care they well-regulate their houses, especially windows. The valley is so narrow, and there is not much space for gardens
