Mr. Milan Dolenc is a renowned expert and breeder of famous Lipicaner horses, so here you have a perfect opportunity to get to know better these beautiful horses.

If you are an experienced rider, you can take a guided hiking tour on horses through wonderful nature, along steep edges, through narrow gorges and across the fields.

If you don't have any or enough experience, here you can learn how to ride in this fenced area just between the cottages and the restaurant.

My daughters have been riding for several years, occasionally, so they were delighted to have a lesson with Mr. Dolenc who was patient and gave them so many useful tips about riding.

Mrs. Silva will help you find a fitting helme tfrom their large collection - you can't ride without it!

Lepenjica stream is crystal crear with emerald lakes and small waterfalls.
SInce the water originates from the snow which melts from high mountain peaks, you might find it Verrrrrry! refreshing even during hot summer months!

So the main watersports acitivties here are feet soaking and people splashing which usually results in you getting wet as well.

    Plate of cold snacks

In the evening we gathered in the basement of the Pristava Lepena restaurant, where we had drinks and yummy cold snacks.
Lovely decorated interior, perfect for parties.

Some of us who wanted to try famous local Soca trout ordered their meals from here and got invited upstairs to the restaurant when the dishes were ready - superb, fresh, full of aroma.

Since our visit there was a small socializing event we just couldn't stop talking and laughing and we haven't noticed that it was far beyond the closing time!
The kind waiter was patiently waiting for us to leave, after finishing who knows which round of excellent red wine of the house.

Bridge over Lepenjica - do not cross!

by KristaB Updated May 28, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

In the whole region of Trenta valley and also here in Lepena valley, you will see many bridges like this one - well, not all are so worn out, some are well maintained and still serving their purpose - to enable people, goats and sheep to cross the stream.

But this one and many others have been neglected since proper bridges have been built for cars.

I think it's lovely and charming relict of old times that should be preserved.

But don't try to cross any river or stream if you have any second thoughts about the safety, the fact that the bridge is still there does not mean that it's still safe!

    Lepenjica stream

Favorite thing: Lepenjica stream is the main feature of this picturesque valley. It changes it's appearance from tiny stream to mighty swirling flow during the summer, when the snow melts up on the surrounding mountain peaks.

Along the stream you can find nice spots for picnic, watch the flow and enjoy the tranquillity.
