We did not succed to find a Gostlina opened on the way to Lipica so we made up our mind to eat at their restaurant, expecting the worst..
We were pleasantly surprise to find out they had two menu, a more sophisticated and upscale one that was wery expensive and a simpler one, much cheaper with a limited food selection of light lunches. There were several big salad with tuna or cheese, fried fish, chicken etc.
They have a indoor dining area and a big covered patio in front to eat outdoor. We choose the later.
The weiters were helpful and spoke good English.
We ordered fried calamari and chicken breast with melted cheese sauce, both plated came with a side, we choose fried potatoes and cooked vegetables. We also oredered two beers and one desert.
The bill was 26 Euro in 2012.
Favorite Dish: The fish was not oily and cooked right, the chicken breast was tasty and the cheese sauce tasty.
The desert selection was great, you walk up to the counter and you choose it from behind a glass. They had several creamy cake, include the famous Kremsnita, original of Bled lake. We shared a apple strudel slice which was very good.
All their portions were generous.
It is open all day so it can be used for breakfast, an afternoon tea, or dinner.
This outdoor/Indoor restaurant provides some Slovenia Cuisine and some Italian. You can find dinner plates, pizza, and sandwiches.
A good place to visit after the performance or the tour of the farm.
The casino is located next door.
The tour and performaces start about 150 meters from here.
Favorite Dish: The pizzas should be avoided at all costs. They look like the crusts came out of the freezer. However, the other items on the menu should be okay.
I think it is what one would expect from a super touristy hotel/resort like this.
Grab some food and head out......
While waiting for the train we decided to have a lunch at nearby inn Risnik. We ordered fresh mushroom soup and njoki with game goulash. Njami , both dishes were very tasteful.
