    This column was erected in 1571 to commemorate Koper’s contribution – a galley to the Battle of Lepanto in which Turkey was defeated by the European powers.

    Near the cathedral stood the Patriarch's Palace, of which only the Patriarch's Tower is preserved still today.

    Another church and monastery. There's quite a few in Koper. This one was first built in the 14th century with alterations and additions in the 17th century.

    The name sounds a bit strange in the middle of the old-Venetian style town. Surrounded by three lovely building, the square is the heart of Koper since ever.
