Vinotek Movia, Ljubljana

Looking for a more old style Italian or Spanish wine bar, but don't care about cost, then this is the place. Located right past the 3 bridges. Great wine selection for there or take-away, great music (for a 30 something crowd, laid back, but cool), place seats only about 20 or less. Dark atmosphere. Nice bartender. Good meats and bread to go along with the wine. Try the local Slovenian Movia wines comparable to a medium Italian. While it is moderately expensive to drink there by Slovenian standards, buying a bottle is very expensive in comparison to the rest of the country. Also try the Simcic if they have it. It is expensive, but one of my favorites.

Another well-kept secret is Slovenian wine. If you've never tried it, don't worry; you can educate yourself at Movia. The Movia vineyards have been producing wine for nearly two centuries and have won international acclaim for their wines.
