Igloo village/krvavec ski center
If the fabulously expensive 'ice hotel' in Sweden is a bit beyond your budget, no fear - there's an equally frosty reception at Slovenia's very own igloo village. After dinner in the igloo restaurant and a session with your eski-mates down at the ice bar, you have the option of accommodation: a classic or romantic igloo. Snowshoeing, snowbiking and skiing are the main activities available at the mountainside location, but just the fact that you're staying in an igloo should be exciting enough. Expect a party atmosphere in and around the village, open from December until the end of March. Good for events and special occasions.
Situated just a few kilometres from Joše Pučnik airport (Brnik), or a 45 minute drive from Ljubljana - northbound along the A2 motorway, following signs for 'Krvavec Ski Center'.
Prices are €89/person for accommodation (which includes night snowshoeing, a welcome cocktail, dinner in Igloo Restaurant, party with DJ in the Ice Bar, sleeping in a standard igloo, usage of special expedition sleeping bags and breakfast), €45 (without accommodation) and €250 for two people (Romantic igloo + champagne).

Krvavec - a Buzzing resort :)
Yes, the resort is packed - evident from the packed car-parks!!
Good, sweet Klemmen arrived as arranged, and we were off to the cable car station.
Bought the ski-pass and away we were!
Equipment: I'd arrived with my luggage (only a carry-on!), and was to change + get my hire equipment (board & boots) from the company chalet on the slope.
When I arrived here I noticed everyone already had their gear on! Explained by the fact that most were locals, arriving by car!Related to:

Heading out to the nearest ski-resort
Krvavec: They say this is the shortest transfer time to any ski destination in the world!!!
This was my first ever snowboarding adventure, and I had a real blast.
There is only one bus a day at 0800 hours, from Ljubljana to Krvavec. Luckily I caught it after a rushed breakfast ;)
The resort was buzzing, with people of all age groups, all happy and eager to get on the slopes.
The cable car ride takes you to quite a height, your ears pop on the way!
The slopes are plenty, for people of all abilities.
Equipment: Most locals bring their own gear - boots, skis and snowboards.
However, at the huts on the slopes you can hire this kit for 16 Euros a day.Related to:

Atlantis Water Park
The Atlantis Water Park is located at the BTC City shopping area in the east of the city. The park features three thematic areas - Adventure World, Thermal Temple and Sauna Land. Altogether there are some 14 pools (6 large, 6 special-purpose and 2 children’s pools) and 12 saunas.
Adventure World was the first area I visited. It features a large indoor wave pool, 2 slides that are approx 135m long and can either be slid down on rubber rings or with nothing at all, a "slow river" through an underground cave and a large outside pool with geysers, water cascades and massage jets. There is also a kids area.
The next area I visited was my favourite - Thermal Temple. This area features an indoor and outdoor pool which are both connected. The indoor pool is heated to 32°C and features two waterfalls, two geysers and eight massaging seats or beds. The outdoor pool is heated to 30°C and features three geysers and two water jets.
I highly recommend coming here in the evening after visiting/shopping at BTC City and just relax and have fun. Open: Daily between 9am and 11pm 20% discount after 8pm.
Water City of Atlantis
The Water City Atlantis is situated in the BTC City shopping centre. The water park complex, which mainly includes indoor pools and other water attractions, is intended for sports, recreation and leisure.
The park is divided into four sections intended for people of different ages. It's comprised of 14 pools (6 larger, 3 children's and 5 various purpose pools) making a total of 1,800 square metres of water surface. Boasting 15,000 square metres of indoor facilities, the complex has a capacity of 1,600 visitors.
Equipment: The first section of the park, called the Thermal Temple (Termalni tempelj), is intended for older visitors. It includes thermal pools, cascading bath areas and three pools with massage benches. The second section, the World of Adventures (Svet doživetij), is apart from several pools also offering numerous water attractions including a 150 to 200 metre long rapid river, swim-through underground caves, a wave pool with an atoll island, two large slides and more.
Located in the third section, the Sauna Land (Dežela savn), are various kinds of sauna. The outdoor part with a pool boasts steam, bio, stone and earth sauna, while the indoor part, among other things, includes steam baths in an underground cave. The fourth section of the Water City, the Children's World (Otroški svet), includes two swimming pools for the youngest children.
Apart from offering the usual water park activities, the Water City of Atlantis is also the venue of themed parties, summer sports games, competitions, themed weeks and other events, including birthday parties, reunions and the like. In the future, an entertainment centre offering a bowling alley, a climbing wall, a billiards room, a multi-purpose hall, slot machines, etc. will be opened in the vicinity of the water park
Ljubljana Cricket Club
For a great social weekend I would recommend cricket in Ljubljana. There is an artificial wicket in Pole (a suburb of Ljubljana) and the home team are good at organising accommodation and ensuring that you have a fun weekend. Well worth a club tour here.Related to:

Chess in Ljubljana
Is chess a sport? People argue about this a lot but my oppinion is that playing chess is a good exercise for your brains... so it's a kind of sport.
Equipment: A chess set and a not to good sparing partner
