Ljubljana Tourist Traps

Taxis are not expensive but do check up in advance as some of them tend to charge unbelivable prices. If called then cheapper. On (almost) every taxi there's a number you can call.

Fun Alternatives: If you decide not to use taxi: Ljubljana is small, safe and everybody speaks English, you can walk or use public transport.

Taxi in Ljubljana can be very cheap but also very expensive. If you just pick up taxi, there are big chances that you will pay lot. But if you call taxi (reccomend 0801190) you will travel pretty cheap and fast.

There is not much to see in this museum. Indeed there are some ancient remains, some paintings, statues and several pictures on display. You can see the whole collection of the City Museum in an hour or maybe less.

Fun Alternatives: Spend some time strolling along the Ljubljanica river.

According to the Greek legend, Jason and Argonauts, after stealing golden fleece, traveled through Black sea, Danube and Sava rivers up to Ljubljanica spring. There they took their ship to pieces in order to take it to Adriatic sea. In swamps near today's Ljubljana Jason fought and killed dragon. That is why Ljubljana is reffered as city of dragon.

There is Zmajski most (Dragon Bridge) in Ljubljana with statues of dragons.

Unique Suggestions: Just don't expect too much - it is just a bridge with the dragon statues.

You know when you travel to places you've never been and while looking for information about it, you also come across helpful locals.
Of course the next step is to meet them when you're in town.

I literally cannot think of one thing that was a ripoff here. Everything was great value and even when sitting on the river, it was nearly the same price to drink a beer as a normal bar. Now, I hope that doesn't change, it was very refreshing.

No Tourist traps i would say, it is cheap and i recomend you visit the CITY MARKETS. Photographed are the narow streets that i remember like the back of my hand. So nice! so EUROPEAN!!
