    World with kindness people

Favorite thing: Power through the history
As a town Murska Sobota was mentioned for the first time in 1366. In 1479 the Hungarian king Matthias Korvin allocated the town free fair rights. In the time of the worse Turkish invasions in the first half of the 17th century Murska Sobota was enclosed with the exterior defense wall, defense trenches and a ditch.

After the Szechys became extinct Peter Szapary bought a part of the town land in 1687 and with the King's assent became the owner of Sobota in 1690. The family Szapary had a patronage over the town all until the First World War, the castle building , mentionet by some sources as early as in the 14th century, was sold to the Sobota Community in 1034. From 1094 till 1176 Murska Sobota was subjected to the administration of the diocese in Zagreb, until 1777, however, to that of the diocese in Gyoer, when its fell to the diocese in Szombathely. From 1923 and later also from the formal jurisdiction in 1964 it belongs to the dioceseof Maribor.

Fondest memory: The role of Murska Sobota as a tourist town hasn't been emphasized enough. Two hotels: Diana with its hall swimming pool and recreational centre, and Zvezda, the swimming pool and recreational centre in Fazanarija, some tourist offices and more and more guest-houses can change this picture very soon, along with the rich cultural offer. The more so, because also the town surrounding offers numerous possibilities for making trips in the nature, visits of cultiral monuments and natural health resources
