In the very center of Velenje, just opposite Center Nova is located probably the best ice-cream in town-Slascicarna Center. Portions are huge and price is reasonable (0,9€). They also hava bananasplit and other cool stuff. Don`t miss!

We were too interested in watching ski jumping and sightseeing that we even didn't mind eating at McDonald's. I would not normally do that, but please understand - food was of secondary importance that weekend!!!
Anyway, may I just add that it came to me as a big surprise to see McDonald's in such a small town!

Okrepcevalnica Mladost (refreshment kiosk Youth)
Based in a red kiosk (to go with famous Red hall in Velenje) Okrepcevalnica Mladost is something you shouldnt miss. It has the best meat products in Slovenia. Also they provide their food on a phone call. Great for after parties or whenever you need deliciously packed extra extra calories and animal fat.

slascicarna Jagoda (confectionery Strawberry)
The place, where we gathered after school, fell in love, buyed first juices on our account for everybody. But those beautiful times are gone. The owner's family made some money and buisness has flowered, two new confectioneries were opened just in Velenje. The recipe for their ice-cream is top secred.
