Muljava is inly 33 km. from Ljubljana and you can go there via Ivancna Gorica.
By car is the easiest and also the most pleasant way to travel in Slovenia.
The idea that you can stop whenever and wherever is so nice!
And believe me, you will stop time after time because e.g. the scenery is changing every 100 meters you drive!
The many places in which famous Slovene artists and writers were born have become inviting excursion destinations, including Muljava, where the writer Josip Jurcic (1844 - 1881) was born.
His name recalls novels like Jurija Kozjak, THE TENTH BROTHER, OUTLAWS and other works.
The museum room contains, books, documents and photographs.
The interior of the Jucic house appears as it once used to be, because it is maintained by the Slovene Ethnographic Museum.
It is an interesting example of Folk building in Dolenjska province.
Besides the Jucic
s house, also forming a part of the Open-air Museum are: The Beehive with a copy of beehive frontboards, grannery for storing wheat, brought from the neighbouring village, a hayrack and a flax-dryer.
