I am not able to give specific recommendations because this time I was not active in this respect and this probably tends to change as rapidly here as elsewhere in the world. Consult Ojas pages for that!

Having sent all my time in Maribor with Mr V (http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/5d3a9/) I am not entirely sure that Maribor has any DAYlife...:O) To emulate the style of Mr V (http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/5d3a9/) either dress like a gangster or a window cleaner.

Al Fresco

Downtown Ljubljana has a plentiful supply of bars and cafes. Many of them cluster in the squares or along the riverbanks in the center of the city, and in suitable weather (i.e., if it's not actually freezing, or in the middle of a thunderstorm) everyone wants to sit outside. The University seems to supply a lot of the younger population, so there's the usual preening and flirting and checking out the cute guy behind the physics textbook; but if (like me) you're an older person who wants to blend into the background, no one will give you any grief if you nurse a glass of wine for a hour and people-watch. The only rule seems to be "anything goes." But you're less likely to be spotted as a tourist if you avoid the usual sartorial atrocities: wrinkled nylon rain gear, pork pie hats, technicolor waist packs, puffy white athletic shoes with baggy white socks ...My hanging-around-town outfit...

Skeleton bar or bar with lotsof photos on the wall: Great choices

by blint

There are lots of pubs and bars down by the river including one called Skeleton which is a Skeleton theme and cocktail bar. The owner is very friendly and talks perfect English. The decorations are certainly original and highly amusing. It's not as scary as it sounds. They were doing a two fr one offer while I was there! Very dangerous. The other bar I really liked had photos on every spare place on the wall of Ljubljana people and life. This bar is on the river front. It looks warm and inviting.

By the Church: Piran: Sit on the wall

by alza

Really, Piran is a small place with lots of bars and restaurants open late into the night so don't worry about finding a place to relax. My favourite thing to do was to go up to the remparts, by the old Church, and sit on the wall with feet swinging in the cliff. Nice to go with a dear one :-) and watch the stars, the moon and the sea. The sound of the waves breaking against the cliffs can be intoxicating. Oh and I only saw a few shadows the three nights I spent dreaming on the wall. It's dead quiet. The church bell rings the hours though. it was nice and warm even at night, but you could bring an anorak.

Relaxing at a Beer Garden

by Sweetberry1

Slovenia is well known for it's relaxing lifestyle.. Sitting in a beer garden, or cafe, with friends is often enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere is very pleasant, and often there will be live music to enjoy also. Neat casual is usually excepted.

Storman - Pri soferski mamici: Jeruzalemcan, Refosk & Cvicek

by KiNyA

In Slovenia you can find a lot of night clubs and stuff. The most I'm familiar with the Celje area because I live nearby. It's dificult to decide what is the best (again). Depends on your taste... Wether you like dancing, cinemas, chatting and drinking... I guess that most visited place in Slovenia about night life spots is Portoroz (Portorose). It's a small town on Slovenian coast, which is diring simmer crowded with people. There is a lot of discos, bars, restaurants, spas...In the picture you can see Martin, a employee at Storman, with lots of wine - Jeruzalemcan, Refosk & Cvicek It doesn't matter actually. Here some people dressed casual, but some (actually a lot) come overdressed. It's pretty wel-known place, probably that's why.
