After a pleasant stroll round the lake, and an enlightening hike up to the castle, you could do worse that repere to the Pri Palinku for a beer of a hearty Slovenian meal. The restaurant and bar are housed in an old building in the centre of a town, and the sign above will tell you that it has been in business since 1903.
Today the bar is fabulously decked out in a patchwork of car number plates, mainly, but not exclusively from the US.
We didn't eat there, but did study the menu which covers traditional Slovenian fare, international dishes and pizzas of high repute. A quick search on the internet also credits this restaurant as being one of the best in Bled.
What we did experience was the pleasant staff and the great atmosphere in the bar. Not to be missed.

I loved this restaurant-especially Mitch the waiter! We ate here almost every night although we referred to it as the "pizza place" due to the neon sign in the window advertising deep dish. It was cheap and convienent to the hostel and once we ate there the first time we couldn't really find anything better anywhere else.
Favorite Dish: Favorite? Hmm...I loved the mushroom soup, the walnut crepes, the goulash...it was all good.

Gostilna Pri Planincu
This is a nice cosy restaurant for singles, couples or families. All the food is home cooked and very good it is too. The prices are very low for the quality of food.
Favorite Dish: Mushroom soup followed by seafood risotto (With crayfish!)
