Of course, Fernanda needed desperately something that I think she didn't buy, but justified a visit to the shopping mall. Don't ask me about the shops (that's up to her), but I didn't bother too much, with the splendid views from its open space.

In this celler the wine can bottled, corked and sealed with the wax by yourself. Than you get the certificate which states that all that is performed by you. This kind of suvenier can be something little different to remind you about your trip.

A small grocery store, which will have most of what you'll want in the way of food, drinks and household items. All the staff was really helpful and friendly. Word of advice: when buying fruit & veg you are meant to weigh it yourself, punch in the fruit or veg's number (located by the price) and the weighing machine will print you out a sticker with the weight and price, which you then stick to the bag! We didnt realize this the first time we went into the store, so just thought i'd give others the heads up!
What to buy: anything you want. we were happy with everything we bought.
What to pay: compared to prices in the UK, everything is really quite cheap. a good example: a bottle of really nice wine is no more then £3.00!

Address: near the Golf Hotel and SKB bank
If you want to set off on a day's walk & need to sort out a packed lunch this place was great. There are several of them in the town & surrounding area. They sold pretty much everything you might need for a pic-nic (rolls, fruit & veg, cheese, ham, even little sachets of honey/fruit spread suitable for a couple of rolls!) as well as stuff for a more substantial meal. They also sold all manner of toiletries so don't panic if you forgot to pack your toothbrush. Finally they also sold plenty of beer and wine (just make sure you get the cans of beer rather than bottles, or you'll have to pay a deposit for them).
What to pay: Might be slightly more expensive than your average Slovenian store - I got the impression you might be paying sort of 7-11 prives rather than Asda/Tesco prices.

Rather than eating out, you can buy yourself a feast at the Mercator supermarket on Ljubljana Ceska. I filled up on burek, schnitzel, bread and chocolate cake from their fantastic deli, and also grabbed a pack of Union beer, a bottle of carbonated Radenska water, and a pack of tasty Luka cheese. The service is pretty friendly too, and they seemed to be able to speak enough English to help me get what I needed.

If you are going on a major hike in Triglav Park after your visit to Bled, i suggest you get a map, that, along with all kinds of hiking equipment, is available in two sporting goods stores in Bled. I forgot the name of the first one, unfortunately...the second one is ProMontana, which is also an agency that arranges all kinds of outdoor activities. The guys there helped us draw up a route to Triglav and gave us all kinds of useful advice.

Near the bus station in Bled is a little grocery store that has everything you need for a quick meal. You can pick up Lesce beer for $0.50 a big can, but it's warm. We got razors, water, beer, snacks, and fruit.
What to pay: Good prices
