I wondered if I should put this tip in the "transport" section, but then I realized it wouldn't be useful to anyone wishing to visit Celje.
This truck, which Nat (b1bob on VT) says to be a Model T Ford truck from the 1920s, is parked outside Hotel Evropa. I don't know what it is used for... probably not to carry tourists!
Shapes of predator birds are often sticked on transparent surfaces to keep smaller birds away and to prevent them from crashing into the glass. However, I had always seen these stickers on the roads, never at a bus stop. Celje is really a bird-friendly town!

Stara Grofovija (the old Old County), today the domicile of the Regional Museum (Pokrajinski muzej), represents one of the most beautiful examples of the Renaissance architecture in Slovenia.
Here yo can see the collections representing he history of the town and its surroundings, from the Paleolithic Age to the 20th century. This collections are, considered by the experts, the most outstanding in whole Slovenia.
Do not miss to see the famous "Celjski strop" (Ceiling of Celje) in the master chamber of the Mansion, which is the most important monument of the artistic painting during Renaissance and Baroque era in the country os Slovenia.

Classical architecture of the city is represented by the old Municipality Mansion of Celje, today the domicile of the Museum of Contemporary History (Muzej sodobne zgodovine).
The history of Celje in the 20th century is displayed in the museum, which includes also a juvenile section, called Museum for Children. Also, the famous Glass Photographic Studio of Pelikan (Pelikanov stakleni fotografski atelje), unique within the Central Europe.
The Museum is situated less then hundred meters from the Main Square.
Chestnuts are traditionally served with most, the first pressing of the grapes that will become wine. It`s a sweet nectar with low alcohol content but beware, it sneaks up on you. The combination is great.
Go to Muzejski trg (Museum Square) and visit Stara grofija (The Old Manor House). It's a Renaissance bilding from around 1600, stands between the Square and the Savinja river. Today it houses a library and the Celje Regional Museum (Pokrajinski muzej), which is highly recommended to see. There you can find the Celje Ceiling, which represents the pinnacle of Renaissance art in Slovenia.

St. Daniel's church is one of the oldest building in Celje. Previous church was built in the 14th century. It takes the main part of
Slomskov Trg, where opposite to it stands the Musical School.
