In a year 2011 Hudi maček was opened by group of young enthusiasts - music and film lovers, therefore you can expect some interesting program from time to time with live bands and screening, mainly non conventional, non commercial stuff! And that is good - if you like mainstream, you can get no shortage of that to listen in local discotheques and bars which will just turn radio Maxi on.The name of bar can translate as 'vicious cat' or 'mad cat', but 'terrible hangover' makes more sense. Why? Because it's well known Slovenian slang: maček as a cat, and maček as a hangover. Come over for a drink - best for fine local wine, but you can sip coffee too of course. Enjoy the setting in some of Ljutomer's oldest houses - or its atruim - on shady afternoon or late night evening. This is good place to have a drink out in Ljutomer and is frequented by locals (and visitors who come along with locals). It is kinda legendary bar since Čarli (pronounced Charlie - the owner and one of a few barkeepers) is old guy, the legend among Ljutomer's folk. It's probably one of those places that will never die, the atmosphere is the most lively on weekends when it can get pretty crowded there. Place with easy going people here. Don't be surprised if someone will start a conversation with you. The customers are of different generations but it is somehow more popular with adults than teenagers (they go to discotheques anyways) because music from radio is kept at low volume so you can chat without having to speak very loud. Actually, it's not strictly nightlife spot - the bar is open during the day but it's not the busiest then. Also they have pretty nice burgers here,...
