They say, that bears like honey and probably, this is the reason for wooden bear in front of this centre.
Slovene beehives are unique. In former times, nearly each farmhouse has its own beehive to produce honey for homeuse, instead of sugar.
Beekeepers' center in Lukovica
In front of the Beekeepers' center, there is a nice park, with flowers, and all this beauty watches a wooden bear, as big as it is in nature. I don't know, who is the author of this amazing sculpture, but it belongs to the whole ambient

This beautefull new building is a Beekeepers' centre It is located as you can see in a very nice place, and architecture of the building reminds on beehive. Close to the main building are tree beehives, characteristic for slovene beekeeping.
A village, about 10 kilometres from Blagovica towards Ljubljana, was in old times an important center of transportation. I those times by horses and cariages. Old huge houses, with nowadays renovated stables remind onto old times.
Lukovica was the centre of Crni graben
This typical village's church is located in the middle of Blagovica. This one is not at the top of the hill as usual are in Slovenia..
Behind the church you can see the hill named Golcaj a very nice point for hiking. You can also reach the top of the hill by car
The castle Brdo
Many times, the castle was damaged, either at peasant risings or natural disasters. In 1943, it was set on fire.
What a pity. It was not the only castle burned during WWII.
The castle went back to16th century. Built in style of renaissance with four corner towers. Later new owners added representative stairs and still wonderful park with pond.
