I reached Portoroz from Koper, driven by a friend, in his car. Portoroz can be made a base or a day excursion from Italy (Trieste) & Croatia (Istrian Peninsula). Nearby towns like Piran, Strunjan & Koper are within easy reach. Buses are every 20 minutes on weekdays & every 40 minutes on weekends. Morning bus to Zagreb in Croatia is at 5.55 am. reflections of the lucja's church in the canal by call_me_rhia While Portoroz is a congregation of hotels, casinos and tourist traps... Lucja, in its suburbs, it's the place where people live. There are some hotels, but not of the posh kinds of Portoroz, and - what's more - there are people leading normal lives there. it'ss nice to go for a walk and take in the few sights - in my case it was the reflection of the little church in the canal Leave a Comment Address: lucjaDirections: either following the boardwalk and backtracking for 1,5 kms towars italy, or else following the road

marina at lucja by call_me_rhia Lucja is a suburb of Portoroz and it's quite pleasant... to walk there, along the sea-shore, it takes about 20-25 minutes. Half way between the two places there's a large marina with some fancy boats (yuck) and a nice canal lined with restaurants and cafés. It's surely a valid altrernative to lying on the beach which, for the reconrd, looked quite small and dirty-ish Leave a Comment Directions: along the shore and boardwalk, backtracking towards Italy

If you are a fisher or you simply like fish you might go to a fishpicnick with a boat taken from the port of Portoroz. You pay at Maonas tourist agency around 25-30 euros. You go with the boat from Portoroz to Izola and on the way back to Portoroz you have the posibility to take a walk in Piran too and than back to Portoroz after aprox.7 hours. On the boat you eat the best fresh shells ever and fish,of corse and other seafood with salade. It is a very nice experience to see almost all Slovenian seaside from the boat. There are wondeful amazing landscapes.A,and not at last the boat will stop and let you swim some minuts in the clear blue wather at aprox.56m deep:)So,it is up to you if you want to have fun by going at a fishpicnick.I can only say that you won`t regret it!!!Have fun!Everything is checked by the biggest Slovenian fan,so you might trus this!;) Jas`,the SLO freake Leave a Comment Address: You pay at Mona Agency and the boat from the port

The view on the Portorose beach by Glorija Slovenian coast is small but you`ve got many things to do & see. Sports, luxury staying, eating and exploring are must be while visiting the coast. In summer time this place becomes very crowded and lots of tourist enjoy its natural beauties. For those who are very adventure I am sure other places would be far more interesting. This is again one of the most develop places here in Slovenian coast. Leave a Comment
