    Of course domestic animals are not missing. When you enter the museum area, goat Rosi run up to you. She poses with a pleasure. She is absolutely a smart cutie. She accompanies the visitors to exit.

    The Goat Rosi and my Timy

    Face to face - the goat Rosi and my doggy Timy. Rosi put herself onto fighting position and so did my Timy. At the moment it looked like a serious fight was going on.
    Everything ended withought victims.

    An open air museum is preservation of ancient architecture and the way of life back to the 19th century.
    A group of buildings in the area, represent a tradicional farm from the Sentjernejsko polje.

    The Old Gothic Church

    The Old Church is now opened to the public as one of the most beautiful buildings in Slovenia. Visitors only have access to the Church and a Sacristy in it.
    In 1980, extensive restoration works began on the church, to return it to its original apperiance,

    In 1899, the monastery was bought by French monks who sought refuge during the prosecution of monks in the region. They rebuilt parts of the monastery. From the original construction only this old gothc church has been preserved.

    The Pleterje Carthusian Monastery

    In the sheltering valley under the Gorjanci lies Pleterje, a monastery of Carthusian monks, that was founded by Herman II. of Celje in the beginning of the 15th century.
    The monastery has made a great impact on the neighbouring farmers because of its efficient economy.

    St. Jernej's parish church was first mentioned in 13th century. From 1546 - 1547 Primoz Trubar (he wrote the first Slovene book) was employed as a vicar there..

    The farm comprise a farmhouse and associated outbuildings, arranged around a farmyard. The presented buildings are single storied and are built of wood with straw thached roofs.

    This is the land of sunshine, where cvicek (type of wine) slows, songs are sung and the people are kind, good-himoured and hard-hardworking.
    It is one of the smaller municipalities in Slovenia.
