Favorite thing: Behind the castle there is an extensive system of underground passageways with various hidden exits and a supply of running water.
When strolling around the castle, do not try to explore its underground world, unless you have an expert local guide, its a kind of spooky and dangerous.
Fondest memory: This is the main entrance to the castle.

Favorite thing: The current building dates from the end of the 16th centiry. For centiries bandits and robber baronshid themselves in the castle, its underground passageway and in the immense forest which surrounding the castle area.
See this ancient arms in front of the castle, served ones for destruction of the walls.

Favorite thing: Predjamski grad or Predjama Castle was first mentioned in 1201.
According to the legend, the castle used to be home of Erasmus Lueger, a German knight sentenced to death after being acused for illegal crossing the border. Though he escaped from prison and hid out in Predjama almost ten years. One of his servants betrayed him and the soldiers of empire Friedrich the third killed him while using the toilet. Sad death for a knight.

Favorite thing: Right beneath the castle town, there is a smaller cave which used to serve as the horse-stable for the riding horses. It is closed for the visitors, but the locals told me the cave is connected to the cave complex behind the castle.*

Favorite thing: Predjamski grad is one of the most visited castles in Slovenia and certailny one if not the most beautiful in whole country.
Due to its hidden position, far away from the main roads, it was very well preserved in its authentic look from the 16th century.

Favorite thing: The Castle was built-up into the ovehanging rock and vista to that combination of a nature and man work is really great.
As you can see on the picturw, the castle hangs in the middle of a 123 meters cliff. This four storey structure is almost arrogant in its simplicity.

Favorite thing: Realistic man size dummies are presenting ancient kind of life in the castle.
Unfortunately, not much of the original furniture was preserved in the castle. The castle of bandits and robbers was robbed by the modern time "gentlemans".

Fondest memory: Well, just a photo of me posing at the Predjama Castle.
The castle looked really impressive. I was posing at the entrance below the cliff, while the main entrance of the Castle is at the top. This could be the secret hidden path that Erazem took, to get out from the Castle. Interesting !
