Family Psnak: Slovenian Cuisine amongst Europe's Yosemite
A nice evening can be placed in no finer place than sitting outside of this family's gasthaus at the mouth of the Krma valley. The food is good and hearty. You sit outside and look across the high alp deep in the heart of the Julians. The setting is near the mouth of not only the spectacular Krma valley but also the Kot valley - another steep approach way to the heights around Triglav. The family used to be responsible for the provisioning of the upper mountain huts. Ask to see their beehives which are painted in the Slovenian manner telling their story of getting the pack animals up the trails to reprovision the high huts. The gasthaus is on a backroad from Mojstrana to Bled. The nature of the road, gravel, ensures that you won't see too much traffic (unlike Bled or Vrsic Pass).
