slovenia is very suitable for cycling.
lot's of quiet roads of good quality and lot's of mountain challenges if you want that.
many parts of the country are flat too, so you can have it the way you want it.
being a nation of outdoor lovers you are looked upon very positively as a cyclist in slovenia, so get on your bike and go to slovenia.

slovenia is good for both road biking and mountainbiking, so any inda bike goes there.

Excellent resort for beginners! The small local ski hill is the Strazna. More advanced local ski areas are within 10-15 km- e.g Vogel)
Why not try snow shoe walking? Very enjoyable for all ages: small children can hire a toboggan.

Golfing at Mokrice Castle area might be very attractive, beautiful nature, excellent playground and accomodation in the medieval castle.
It is highly recommended for pro-players, experienced amateurs or novices who can start playing right here.

In case you don't have your own equipment, it is possible to rent it in the local club.

Enjoy how world's best ski jumpers *fly*. I support Slovenia's team, though my fave jumper ever is Japanese Kazuyoshi Funaki!!! On the picture there's Funaki, who else. Though this jump wasn't anything special - he landed at 185 meters :S

Now here is a challenge that rare people are willing to take: cycling on top of Vrsic. The road is quite serpentine and there is quite a height to overcome. There will be cars driving by giving you some cheers and courrage to continue. I am proud that some of my friends did this, but I can't possible imagine me doing this. Well, who knows? I am not going to say NEVER EVER ... There is still hope, even for me...

If you feel challenged enough, you can apply for the 25. Cycling race to Vrsic
    Borovska 99a, 4280 Kranjska Gora
    Tel.: ++386 4 588-50-20
    e-mail: info@kranjska-gora.si

    Years of tradition: 25
Date of event: 06.09.2003 (6th Sept.)
    No cars that day!

Better byke is a must! Beware - the road to Vrsic might be closed during cooler months when snow falls! Do choose summer months for this challenge!

OK, you can really improvise here, but I suggest you don't do that a lot! There are a few people lost (for good) every year. They fall into small undetectable holes somewhere in the mountains never to be found again. Climbing is VERY popular in Slovenia, but beware of your capabilities. I am not one of "them", the climbers, too afraid of heights. But did visited Triglav, since it is a MUST and there is no true adulthood in Slovenia without being on top of it. Uhhh! And they say we have it easy around here!

You know - some ropes would be nice and those safety clips, a helmet and such things.
