Maribor - Fontana Spa

by Willettsworld

If you stay at the Orel Hotel then you can get in to this thermal spa water complex for free, which is what I did! The spa complex was the second such complex I visited whilst staying in Slovenia after visiting Atlantis in Ljubljana and I have to say that I like them a lot and wish they were here in my country. This complex is located about a 10 minute bus trip to the west of the city and features a number of indoor and outdoor pools with more than 160 massage jets, whirlpools and water effects. The water temperature is between 33 and 37 degrees Celsius.Open: 9am-10pm. Admission: Free if staying at Orel Hotel.

by Willettsworld

The Atlantis Water Park is located at the BTC City shopping area in the east of the city. The park features three thematic areas - Adventure World, Thermal Temple and Sauna Land. Altogether there are some 14 pools (6 large, 6 special-purpose and 2 children’s pools) and 12 saunas.Adventure World was the first area I visited. It features a large indoor wave pool, 2 slides that are approx 135m long and can either be slid down on rubber rings or with nothing at all, a "slow river" through an underground cave and a large outside pool with geysers, water cascades and massage jets. There is also a kids area. The next area I visited was my favourite - Thermal Temple. This area features an indoor and outdoor pool which are both connected. The indoor pool is heated to 32°C and features two waterfalls, two geysers and eight massaging seats or beds. The outdoor pool is heated to 30°C and features...
