Cycling Small Tour The France For You

by anaiis

Now here is a challenge that rare people are willing to take: cycling on top of Vrsic. The road is quite serpentine and there is quite a height to overcome. There will be cars driving by giving you some cheers and courrage to continue. I am proud that some of my friends did this, but I can't possible imagine me doing this. Well, who knows? I am not going to say NEVER EVER ... There is still hope, even for me... If you feel challenged enough, you can apply for the 25. Cycling race to VrsicBorovska 99a, 4280 Kranjska Gora Tel.: ++386 4 588-50-20 e-mail: info@kranjska-gora.si Years of tradition: 25 Date of event: 06.09.2003 (6th Sept.)No cars that day! Better byke is a must! Beware - the road to Vrsic might be closed during cooler months when snow falls! Do choose summer months for this challenge!

get soaked in the soca

by sourbugger

Bovec is beginning to develop into an excellent mini-queenstown. Good range of activities, especially rafting and kayaking on the soca river. The "X-point" company who work with Exodus travel are very professional - to quote them : "you must wear suit of neopreme" and can be recommended.Their canyoning experience is also absolutely A1 - includes a last drop that will scare you S***less.

Enjoy how world's best ski jumpers *fly*. I support Slovenia's team, though my fave jumper ever is Japanese Kazuyoshi Funaki!!! On the picture there's Funaki, who else. Though this jump wasn't anything special - he landed at 185 meters :S

Rock Climbing In Slovenia

by anaiis

OK, you can really improvise here, but I suggest you don't do that a lot! There are a few people lost (for good) every year. They fall into small undetectable holes somewhere in the mountains never to be found again. Climbing is VERY popular in Slovenia, but beware of your capabilities. I am not one of "them", the climbers, too afraid of heights. But did visited Triglav, since it is a MUST and there is no true adulthood in Slovenia without being on top of it. Uhhh! And they say we have it easy around here! You know - some ropes would be nice and those safety clips, a helmet and such things.

Q:  My husband and I are planning two nights in July - is it better to base ourselves In Bled or Bohinj, or do one night in each?

Durfun profile photo
