    Ljubljana cathedral or Stolnica Sv Nikolaja was constructed between 1701 and 1708 in baroque style by the Italian architect Andrea Pozzo and honor St. Nicholas. Not so big as cathedrales in other European capitals are but very charming with twin towers, cupola and decorated bronze doors and also very beautiful inside adorned with frescos, fine altar and pipe organ.

    On the steams and small alpine rivers you could have great picnic and all day fun with friends... we did it already!

    You could enjoy there in all winter sports as well as in hiking, climbing.... This picture was taken on the road from Kranjska Gora to triglav National Park.

    Zelenci is a nature reserve which is known by a ground springs of Sava Dolinka River. (Sava River has two sources branches: Sava Bohinjka and Sava Dolinka). Lake of Zelenci has intensive green color (zelen=green). We spent more than hour there enjoying that wonder of nature. There also was techers with several 100 of primary school pupils and we couldn't feel real breath of nature... but with all that kids around it was fun just watching them!!!

    Skofja Loka - is a very old town about 30 minutes from Ljubljana, more or less in the direction of Kranj. It's also near the home of my friend Vesna, so this is the main reason why I went there. However the town is not obscure: in fact it is well known for the painted facades of the main square`s houses.. but one should also check out the old prison (now appropriately a bank).... incredible building! You can still see the spikes and nails on the windows!

    This building is just next to the chain bridge, this is where you can catch the noddy train to take you up to the castel and back for 550 tollars only a couple of quid.

    Walking is a good way to get to know Slovenia at low speed. Here is a snapshot of high-speed-landscape just to change a perspective a bit. Amazingly, its also beautiful (everything is a bit brownish because its autumn). The brown color is caused by lower temperatures. In the past years, this brown color occured also during the summer - because of heavy drought. Our farmers have yet to learn how to cope with it. It affected also grape production, but caused the wine to be very very sweet. (The water was sucked out of grape by sun and sweetness was more concentrated.)

    Bled can be quite overrun by tourists in the summer, but it is one of the most scenic spots in all of Slovenia. We stayed at Bled in late November and had the place all to ourselves.
