Slovenia is famous for its caves and this one is probably the most famous one. The area, Karst, has given its name to these beautiful natural phenomenon, Karstic Caves.If you only have time for one cave, you should go to Postonja. It's easily accessible, there is a little train taking you into the cave. There you keep on walking in the cave for about 1.5 km and then back by train. The town Trzic is situated near border pass Ljubelj, 45 km faraway from Ljubljana. It is worth to stop there, there is much to see and to do. With its woods and mountain meadows and its rich natural and cultural heritage, Trzic is attractive for anyone, either during a long trip or a short stop.
Kranj is the main town of Gorenjska region. It is only 24 km faraway from Ljubljana. It is accessible by car (the car traffic is not allowed in old part centre of Kranj), by bus or by train. 7 km East from Kranj is the international airport Brnik.
Zlebic is a small village near Ribnica na Dolenjskem. It is not much to see there, except this interesting small church. You can see countless of small churches, usually at the top of the hills, but this one, is especial. At the top of the bell tower, there is - A cock!

The Turjak Castle is one of the most important castles of the former Carniola region. It is located close to Ljubljana - about 30 km south of it and is recomanded also as a half day trip. About 500 m from the main road there is the village Turjak and on the hill - the castle of Turjak.Present castle was mentioned in 1220. It was owned by Auersperg family. It was burned down in 1943. Some parts were renovated later.The renovation of the castle still continues.
Kropa is located at the bottom of amphitheatre, created by the slopes of Jelovica. It is accessible either from the north from Radovljica past Lancovo, from the east from Kranj past Podnart, or from the south from Drazgose past the village Jamnik. The place got its name Kropa upon steep mountain stream, which is on his way through the settlement like o boiling water in a pot. "Krop" means boiling water.Kropa has more than five hundred years old ironwork tradition.It is the place, worth to visit
Skofja Loka is the one-thousand year old town, about 25 km northwest of the capital Ljubljana in Gorenjska region. This old town is located at the confluence of the Selska Sora and the Poljanska Sora Rivers.Skofja Loka today pleasantly combines a thousand years of tradition with a modern touch. In recent times there has been substantial development of the textile, wood and machine industries, but this has been deliberately kept to the outskirts of the town.
