It can be arranged from the reception, and cost twenty euros per hour. You follow a guide through some pathways leading to the lake. The horses were quite tranquil. You would have to drive or arrange transport at an extra cost to get to the stables.

There are canoes for hire, they cost around eight euros for an hour and they are available from the reception. They provide the canoes and life jackets and of course the oars. When starting off canoeing always start against the current, even though this is not the sea the current can be strong and you don't want to be rowing against the current when you are more tired. If the weather is not too cold wear shorts as you are bound to get your legs wet. As these canoes are quite wide they are very stable so they are not easily overturned, unless of course you want to overturn them!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take comfortable shoes for trekking.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There is a supermarket within the resort but they are not open all day. In the town of Algar there are mainly two places to buy, the petrol station which has only basic necessities and a small supermarket which is always closed, you have to knock on the house next door where the owner lives and he will open the supermarket for you and close after you leave!
Photo Equipment: Take all equipment from home as there is none available, except for batteries.
Miscellaneous: I had to drive 30 minutes to buy fire starters for my BBQ as I had forgotten to buy them previously. You would think that a supermarket in a place like Tajo Del Aguila would have fire starters, but the answer is no! So do think of everything you need!
