There were no tourist traps here,actually we didn't see many tourists at all,being a typical Spanish town there was no need for tourist traps.The only traps are from the holiday companys that sell you the holidays,the reps gave us a sheet of paper with all the excursions to go on and my advice is go on your own its alot more cheaper and you will have alot more time in the places you choose. Well not really a 'trap' as such but if you are going to Morocco on the ferry at Algeciras and arrive by car, the car park right close and in front of the ferry departure terminal building is free for the first hour. Don't get suckered into following any directions by 'ticket touts' who just want to drum up business for their own ferry agency. It's easy enough to park up and then investigate the best deal for your journey at the ferry terminal or nearby agency offices, of which there are several.
This also applies if going by foot as a ferry passenger. At Algeciras you have more than 3 or 4 ferry operators. Some boats are slow (taking cars/lorries) taking 2 1/2 hours. And others are fast taking just over an hour (fast cats). So look at the departures and check which boat you really wish to travel on before you follow a 'ticket tout'. Leave a Comment
