Bus to Almería from Madrid

You can get to Almería from Madrid by bus with Avanzabus, with several departures a day from Madrid and also for the way back.

You can buy your tickets online at www.avanzabus.com, print the ticket and go directly to the bus.

Bus travel is easy

The main bus station is located with the train station. There are several bus operators all with their own ticket booths a big display shows which bus goes where and when. Prices are cheap and the service is reliable.

For the shopaholics there is a big shopping center/mall on the main road into Roquetas del Mar.

Aeropuerto de Almera

Fly into Almeria's Airport, the second busiest Airport in Andaluc?a after M?laga. Don?t fly domestic, flights into Almeria from other Spanish cities are the most expensive in the country, don?t ask me why. There are regular flights to London with British and charters to many other British and German cities every thursday and sunday.

A path close to San Jos

Another way to get easily around in the area of Almeria is to take a rental car.
We've been 20 years old at that time and had our drivers licence for 2 years, but this wasn't a problem.
Especially for a visit of the Parque Natural Cabo de Gata, a nature park in the north-east of almeria, it is perfect to have a rental car and to go individual ways. But you should be carful with very small streets, they can get smaller and smaller and end up suddenly in a really bad pathway, with no chance to turn.

Organized bus trips

There are many organized trips by bus. Usually you can book these trips at the hotel, in which you are staying. We made trips to the sierra nevada and granada with the bus. The only bad thing is, if you are motion sick, to get in the back of the bus.

The nearest airport is Almeria, which is approximately 45 minutes drive from the villas.

You can also fly to Alicante, which is about 2 hours drive from the villas or Murcia, which is about 45 minutes away.

The best way to get around...

The best way to get around Almeria and surroundings is to hire a car as local transport is limited. Rail travel is practically non-existent and only offers long distance to Madrid, Barcelona (12hrs) and Granada.
