Favorite thing: Make ure you take a walk through the Nature Reserve that lies at the far end of Canos. Mind your legs though, those bushes are scratchy!!
Fondest memory: Beautiful scenery and just moments away from the beach you really feel like you're in the wilds. But your still only 5 minute walk from your room!!

Favorite thing: During the months of April and August the tunas pas the Straight of Gibraltar after being at the arctic north pole and Norway.
In the Mediterranean due to the warm water they reproduce.
First come the oldest ones (the biggest) and second the youngsters
La almadraba is they way of catching them in both ways that has been like that since the old times.
They have records of an incredible amount of Tunas in the old years, but due to the fishing with no control before they come here by the big boats, now the numbers have gone down drastically

Favorite thing: I always called Barbate, so I was surprised to see it was called Barbate de Franco. Also it surprised that some streets were still called Generalisimo Franco, when in the rest Spain, this names had been changed.
Later I discovered that in the times of Franco the dictator, he used to go there on holidays for fishing, so the village took the name for him.
