This little tapas bar has a warm welcoming atmosphere as well as serving great tapas. It is named on the tapas route and has won awards for its standards.
I have included a link to their web site which includes photos of the restaurant and food and a map. You can change the Language for the introduction and put it in English, but it seems the rest is only in Spanish.
Favorite Dish: You can get raciones (larger portions) or tapas. My advice is to order a selection of tapas as they offer such a wide variety. Their speciality is fresh Iberian meats.

An institute in Cádiz, situated on the plaza with the same name. Fried fish and seafood are on the menu. Best is to take away, cause the place is not very nice, and it's a great thing to sit down on the benches of Plaza de las Flores or on the steps of the Cathedral when enjoying your meal. To be honest, this was not really a place I liked a lot, mainly because I'm not much into fried stuff ? But you should try it though, especially when the place is fully packed and you have to "fight" your way to the counter :-) Very cheap!

It was a little crowded actually but this place is very nice for a quick lunch.
They have thousands of dishes with fried fish, it's not a light meal at all but if you can breast it, you'll enjoy it!
Some dishes are not that cheap, like pulpo a la gallega (more than 8 euros), but if you can choose you can have a very cheap lunch.
We payed about 15 euros per person.

This used to be a little shop that sell to take away fried fish, now you can also take away and eat there. They have open a new one in another area, but we only visited the one at plaza las flores.
The food was not as great as I remember but I have to say I had the best “Chipirones” I had had for years, the rest of the stuff we took was not as good. (Sorry but the “cazon in adobo” that I eat here in Marbella is nicer hehehehe)
Anyway is a perfect spot to try some of the local specialities

If you are looking for a place to taste the typical fried fish of Cadiz in the old town, this is your place!
Located in a pedestrian square near the Post Office, you can order the fish and eat it there in the bar or terrace with a beer or simple "take away".
There is a counter where you order the fish by weight (1/4kg, 1/2 kg, 1kg...). They fry it "on the fly" for you and pack it in a grey paper package, so you can take it away...
Favorite Dish: Cazon (shark) in adobo, pescadilla, chocos(squid), puntillitas (little squids), croquetas, empanadillas...
