As Cadiz has a lovely long beaches called Cortadura, Playa Victoria and Playa Santa Maria you can do all sorts of water sports. I have seen people surfing, wind surfing and kite surfing.
Cortadura for kitesurfing or Surfing
Santa Maria: Surfing or body boarding
Due to the wind in Cadiz the waves are quite good to go surfing. Better still head down to Tarifa within the Cadiz province.
People don't tend to do water sport on Playa Victoria as that's for the sun bathers and sea dippers.
Saying that, there are beach Volleyball courts on Playa Victoria. Although you need to bring your own net and ball.
You can also play football there when there is a low tide. But only in the evening or in winter. Not when the main beach goers are there in summer. It is illegal.
Equipment:
There are several surf shops along the main Avenue by the beach and along the sea front where you can rent your gear from. There is one right at the end of Cadiz in Cortadura on the paseo Maritimo. It is in the last building there is before leaving Cadiz.
Cadiz has a spectacular nature and a good way to know it could be practicing sports.
Surf, playa El Palmar
Windsurf, playa Tarifa
Biking, scuba diving, 4x4, and walking for example: http://www.naturexplorer.com/en/index.php
Good place to relax. he other pics show what it's seen from the beach: Castillo de San Sebastián and Cathedral.
In the Local Swimming Pool I learned to swimm. Here you can see me and my brother with the teacher.
Now the Swimming Pool doesn't exist anymore, nowadays is the local Police Station.
this sport can be played also on the sand, and you know the participants maybe dont have the same weight
Equipment:
u only need a swimsuit and a good tempered partner!
