A supposed boutique hotel with a beautiful boardwalk restaurant. Though having stayed at many boutique hotels around the world the El Oceano severely lacks any kind of real class, particularly amongst the often cheesey staff. The food was piled high on the plate with the portions just too over-facing - obviously catering for the English "we do like a bargain" Costa Del Sol crowd. For instance I've never had so much Foie Gras on a plate - which made me question just how good the Foie Gras actually was - if it was at all.
The setting is lovely but El Oceano wants to be so much more yet fails because of its lack of subtlety and simplicity.

Beautiful restaurant in the harbour of Puerto Cabopino. Relaxed atmosphere and wonderfully attentive service lets you just sit back and enjoy the "progressive international" (their words) cuisine.
Favorite Dish: The Adult Burger with capers and Wasabi was fantastic and very popular on the night we where there. They're however willing to cook anything you want, even if it's not on the menu.

The menu is never going blow you away but what they do serve is good, well cooked food in a nice relaxed atmosphere in the corner of the El Zoco complex. Between 9-10pm seems to be its busiest time.
Favorite Dish: Superb fillet steak perfectly cooked as requested.

There are lots of picures of film stars on the walls.
