Great food can be had at La Roca. This is a restaurant and bar which often culminates the evening with the spectacular sounds of live Flamenco music.
Favorite Dish: The steaks are prepared from the freshest cuts of beef. The local wine made from the Muscatel grape is not to be missed either.

Restaurant doing local and international cuisine at reasonable prices. The unique thing about this place is it is a combined bar/restaurant and gift shop, and they have a huge selection of locally made products at reasonable prices including traditional painted ceramic tiles, Morroccan pots, local honey products, etc. There are also huge vats of local wine which you can buy by the glass or bottle. If you're not sure which to try, ask to sample some and you will get to try a glass of each. The staff are very helpful and are great with kids. Favoured by locals, expatriates and tourists alike.
Favorite Dish: Chicken cooked in Competa wine is unusual as the wine is quite sweet but it is a good combination. Also the scrambled egg with garlic shoots is lovely. For a quick, cheap snack, try some of the tapas which is available at the counter. One nice touch is the basket of raisins on the tables to eat as a snack with your drink - a nice change to peanuts!
