In summer you will find many bars and restaurants in Conil with a handmade sign indicating they have caracoles. These are little white snails that people here use to have with sauce. They are smaller than the french "scargots" but are eaten the same way.
I don't personally like them, but maybe some of U do...

party like the locals
In Conil they have traditional celebrations throughout the year. One such occasion is in honour of Saint Carmen, the patron Saint of fishermen. This is of particular importance as Conil is a fishing village. They have a flotilla of ships on the day then parade an idol of the virgin throughout the town but the best bit is at night on the beach. They set up tents and barbeques and party all night. They will still be there in the morning, some with their fishing rods out, some still knocking back the beer, all family members included. They sure know how to get the most from life.
This apetizers are typical from this part of Spain. They are mainly potatoes or carrots with oil, salt and parsley, very tasty and perfect for summer
