Take the bus if you don't fancy walking by Hopkid If you arrive in Cordoba by train, it's pretty easy to get down to the Mezquita via the bus. Exit the train station to the north and cross the street to the bus station. The local buses stop outside the station on this street. Catch the No. 3 which will take you into the City Centre. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Roman ruins that this bus passes. They'll be on your left as you face the front of the bus. Get off at the corner of Calle de San Fernando and Paseo de la Rivera which parallels the Rio Guadalquivir. It's best to ask the bus driver to let you know when to get off. As the bus makes a left turn onto Paseo de la Rivera, go in the opposite direction (right) and follow the Paseo de la Rivera for about a quarter mile until you see the Mezquita which will be on your right. It's pretty much opposite the Puente Romano and the Torre de la Calahorra on the opposite side of the river. The bus cost 0.90 euro. Leave a Comment Theme: Bus

by arlequin_g Cordoba has not aiport. You can go there by train (AVE). The train station number is 957-49-02-02. By bus. The bus station number is 957-40-40-40. The main company is Alsina Graells. For timetables and prices (957-403-244). Both stations are together, one in front of another. To go to the centre take a taxi, it's the best way. To visit the city just do it walking. Not our train, but another one in Cordoba by karenincalifornia We wanted to keep our driving around Andalucia to a minimum, so we took the train from Malaga to Cordoba. You don't have to do this, but we bought our tickets online before we left and they were waiting at the Malaga window for us. The train between Malaga and Cordoba is the high speed Talgo 200, which reaches speeds of abut 140 mph. The trip was 1 hour 45 minutes each way. Since this was a vacation, we splurged and bought first class tickets. They weren't that much more than tourist class, but they were fun. We got breakfast and first class service. However, on the way up, my neighboring passenger was on his cell phone the ENTIRE time. One hour and 45 minutes. That would never be tolerated in California. This man would have been thrown out on his ear after 10 minutes in California. In Spain, no one said a word to him. This told me that Spaniards are much more tolerant and just don't let the little things in life upset them so much. I think it must be a very nice way to live your life. The train station in Cordoba is five minutes away from the main sights of the city - in fact, it is walkable. A taxi is very easy to get at the station, and equally easy to find in the old town when it is time to go back to the station. Taking the train to Cordoba definitely beats driving. Leave a Comment

The Andalucia Expres: the slower option by Hopkid Cordoba is on the line that runs between Madrid and Sevilla. If you opt for the pricier but much faster AVE, Spain's high speed train, the trip to Cordoba will take 1.75 hours from Madrid and 45 minutes from Sevilla. The AVE cuts the travel time approximately in half. There are also trains that run from Malaga (2.5 hours) and Barcelona (10.5 hours) Check the Renfe website for schedules, train types, and seating classes that are available. You can't purchase the tix online (as of the writng of this tip anyway) but you can get them from the train station upon your arrival. Leave a Comment

on the road to córdoba by lina112 From Málaga you have to take the A-45 and follow the signals, it takes about 2 hours and the road is ok, only in Antequera there are works for the new highway but there is not problem. There are daily bus and train servicies from Málaga to Córdoba. If you do from Sevilla or Madrid the best option is take AVE the high speed train, from Seville is only 40 minutes and from Madrid about 2 hours. Leave a Comment

by wardy51 Bargain flights into Malaga can be readily available. A taxi to Malaga station is about 10 euros which is ok if you are sharing or there are trains from the airport to Malaga. A single train ticket to Cordaba is 16 euros and takes about 2 hours. It is a pleasant journey in itself. Leave a Comment

The fastest way of travelling to Cordoba from Madrid is the train AVE (fast train) although this is not the cheapest option. There are some other cheaper trains, including TALGO (very fast and not as expensive as AVE). You can buy your tickets through the web although you have to pick them in the station before the train leaves. You can also buy train tickets in any "El Corte Ingles" (big shopping centers that you can find all around Spain) or in many Travel Agencies. Leave a Comment
