Donkeys - Burritos
As the streets are very narrow and steppy the only way to carry on heavy stuff is using donkeys, as it was usual in every Spanish city in ancient times. Unfortunatly I dind't see any of them.
Como las calles son muy estrechas y tienen escalones la única manera de transportar material pesado es usando burros, como era normal antiguamente en todas las ciudades españolas. Lamentablemente no ví ninguno.
Mules transport system
As transport inside the city is so difficult as it is on a hill and streets very narrow, this is the traditional work transport...
My eyes could not believe it, when I first saw it, later I realised this is the only way ... Mule or the man!
thanks Susieguide for the correction, is mules not donkeys
The name of the village dates from the roman period, as it comes from the Latin "Frexinius", to which the suffix "ana" was added.
The final result was, therefore, "Frexinius ana", meaning "Frexinius’ farmhouse".
But it is the Arab culture that really gave the village its present form, as it grew up around the hamlet dating from the ninth and tenth centuries.
