Play Bridge in yet another club

by stewmcrat Written Jan 1, 2009 3 reviews

The Manila Restaurant right on the seafront in Fuengirola meets Monday, Thursday and Friday at 2pm on the upper floor of the Cafe.

The frontage of the Manila is Yellow with a covered area in front of the building.

Located about 100 m north of the Yaramar Hotel (towards Torreblanca) its literally on the front, despite what the directions in the tourist office might tell you.

Usually 5 - 7 tables mostly ex pats.

Play Bridge in a Different Bridge Club

by stewmcrat Written Jan 1, 2009 3 reviews

Los Boliches Bridge Club is primarily ex pats. Usually about 5 or 6 tables and wine is the winning prize.

They are amazingly friendly and it may well be possible turn up without a partner.

Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm and most Saturdays at 1:15.

Tea at bicuits at mid session break too!

Location is in St Andrews Church in Los Boliches, a suburb of Fuengirola.

Avenida de Jesus Santos Rein, and about 100m north of Los Boliches Railway Station on the same side of the road, next to the Scandinavian Cafe.

    Play Bridge

by stewmcrat Updated Jan 1, 2009 3 reviews

There's plenty of opportunity to play Bridge in Fuengirola unlike many other locations on the Costa del Sol. The prime club is the International ACE Club where they play 5 afternoons a week (no Sunday or Wednesday) starting at 4 pm.

Pretty decent standard and visitors are welcome as pairs and no prior notice is required.

We visited them in December 2005, December 2006 and December 2008. They have a fully working "BridgeMate" scoring system installed - totally opposite to the huge majority of English clubs.

Table money is €4 for visitors.

Mostly English spoken although many spoke Spanish, Swedish, French and Italian.

Parking can be tight but its close enough to the Bus and railway station to walk.
