Play Bridge Update - March 2015

by stewmcrat Updated Mar 25, 2015

Updated 25th March 2015 following another visit.

The club formerly at the Manila has now established a home a few hundred metres away about the indoor market close to Los Boliches Railway station.

Now playing Monday and Friday only prompt 3.00 pm start.

Located above the Indoor market, the entrance is in Calle de la Fruta, right opposite the Correos (Post Office).

They play on the first floor and a lift is available if walking the stairs is a problem.

Nice air conditioned location, food and drinks available at very good prices.

    Well recommended.

Now about 8 - 10 tables mostly ex pats.

Play Bridge in a Different Bridge Club

by stewmcrat Updated Apr 10, 2014

Los Boliches Bridge Club is primarily ex pats. Usually about 5 or 6 tables and wine is the winning prize.

They are amazingly friendly and it may well be possible turn up without a partner.

This is updated 10th April 2014 following a recent visit.
    Table money is €4

Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm for a 2:15 start

Tea and bicuits at mid session break too!

Location is in St Andrews Church in Los Boliches, a suburb of Fuengirola.

Avenida de Jesus Santos Rein, and about 100m north of Los Boliches Railway Station on the same side of the road, next to the Scandinavian Cafe.
    Car parking can be difficult.

    Play Bridge

by stewmcrat Updated Jan 1, 2009

There's plenty of opportunity to play Bridge in Fuengirola unlike many other locations on the Costa del Sol. The prime club is the International ACE Club where they play 5 afternoons a week (no Sunday or Wednesday) starting at 4 pm.

Pretty decent standard and visitors are welcome as pairs and no prior notice is required.

We visited them in December 2005, December 2006 and December 2008. They have a fully working "BridgeMate" scoring system installed - totally opposite to the huge majority of English clubs.

Table money is €4 for visitors.

Mostly English spoken although many spoke Spanish, Swedish, French and Italian.

Parking can be tight but its close enough to the Bus and railway station to walk.
