    Tranquil despite the crowds!

Favorite thing: When you arrive at the Mirador you may have to wait a little while for a space on the wall to free up. People are understandbly reluctant to leave such an inspiring view of the Alhambra, the Sierra Nevada and the plains beyond. At the height of the tourist season there are lots of people selling trinkets and playing guitar music which adds to the atmosphere (bongos less so I find!!)
Two tips about this spot 1. For the older or less fit tourist...there are little mini buses leaving from Plaza Nueva that will run you up there .Then you can enjoy the winding stroll back down the hill, especially useful if you are visiting in July or August.
    2. A mosque was built in 2002 (?) to the right of the Mirador. This spot offers more or less the same view but less people and a pretty garden to relax in.

    Mirador San Nicolas
