    Guadix - City of Troglodites

    Guadix

A small city located 40 minutes drive from Granada. Its famous for its Barrio de las Trogladitas, a district where many people still live in caves. The city also has much to see from its history, with a nice cathedral and castle. It set in a beautiful location just to the north of the Sierra Nevada mountains and has three natural parks in the district.

    La Calahorra Castle

I spent there two days, but from Granada you can do day excursions to Guadix, as it is only one hour trip, and walk along this monumental city.

Also take the road again and visit Calahorra castle

    Magnificent canyons

The coach was traveling along these canyons for almost 2 hours while heading towards Valencia. A very scenic route; but I think most people onboard were asleep now...Wished Victoria (that's my guide) had told us what's their names.

    Gaudix - Cave Dwellings

It's a small town with cave dwellings, just east of Granada. If you drive, it will take about 30-40mins. It's a quiet town and holds the largest proportion of cave dwellings in Andalusia. However, these are not natural caves but dwellings which have been excavated by man. The town is also accessible by train, but it is located 20mins from the town centre.

Look out for these cave houses! Aren't they interesting? I wonder if they watch TV in these houses! No satellite though... Certainly not for me!
