The magnificent Basilica of San Juan de Dios is dedicated to Saint Juan de Dios who dedicated his life to helping others especially the sick. Built in the 18th century the church is probably one of the best examples of the Baroque style, especially the front façad,e in Granada. Within the church is the remains of St Juan de Dios (or St John of God) which are kept in a silver urn in a small chapel behind the altar.

The church of San Juan De Dios (Saint John of God) is worth seeing for the outside alone.

Inside are examples of 17th Century paintings and sculptures, with a silver box containing the remains of San Juan de Dios (See my Hospital of San Juan de Dios tip for more info about him)

Baroque style, having 2 towers with spires on the front facade, and a further attractive dome. These are all decorated with distinctive green and white tiles.

Above the entrance is a stone statue of a figure (who I assume is San Juan) above which are a crest and a couple of carved angels.
