For the best view of the Alhambra you must go to Plaza de San Nicolas. You can sit and enjoy the view from the small stone wall or enjoy a cafe or beer at the small bar at the edge of the cliff. Go during the late afternoon to see the view during the day, then stay until sunset to see it change to night. The Alhambra is lit once it's dark creating something magical.

For the best views of the Alhambra go to the Mirador de San Nicholás (Saint Nicholas viewpoint) in the Albaicin. It is a really beautiful spot. You can sit on the wall and look at the stunning countryside and the Alhambra nestled in the hillside. There are usually people playing the castanets or the bongo drums to give it a bit of an atmosphere. In the summer people vend jewellery or homemade cakes.

It seems that there are always people hanging out at the Mirador, and no wonder since it has a spectacular view of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada. Come during mid-afternoon for a drink at one of the nearby cafes or for a stroll through the Albacin neighborhood and then head over to the Mirador to grab a spot to watch the sunset. The walls of the Alhambra will glow pink during a beautiful sunset.

The perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Alahmbra whilst listening to the local gypsies playing a tangos. The views are truly awesome. Highly recommended as a 'must' do.
