A sad name for a beautiful place
Paseo de los Tristes literally means Promenade of the Sad. This square runs parallel to the River Darro and owes its name to the fact that funeral corteges used to pass through here on their way up to the cemetery behind the Alhambra.
Esta plaza corre paralela al Río Darro y su nombre se debe al hecho que anteriormente los cortejos fúnebres pasaban por aquí antes de subir al cementerio detrás de la Alhambra.

From carrera de Darro, go up to a wonderful place next to the Alhambra were you can seat in a terraza and enjoy a wonderful view of la Alhambra in the evening when they put the lights at night!
